We'd like to travel Cuba by car because we think it's the most easy way of
transport. We also would like to stay in "Casas particulares".
Now I'm wondering:
- How do Cubans feel when you arrive in your 50$/day car and you expect to
have dinner and a bed for approx 30$?
Somebody had that experience?
Please let me know in this newsgroup.
Thx,

If you mean they could feel any ENVIOUS, no, nor will look you down for
beeing a rich capitalist. They are much used to it now.

Both are very easy, staying in casas is the best experienceto get in touch
with a cuban family, and driving rented car solves out the transportation
problem if you can afford it.

As Orzowei posts, it's not a problem at all. They probably
wouldn't want you if you arrived by hitchhiking... If you want to
travel a lot by car, make sure to negotiate for an unlimited miles
contract (which you ought to be able to do in Habana). Cuba's
bigger than it might seem. Also, be prepared to get by in spanish
(which you probably are) since most people you run into/stay with
won't speak much of anything else.
