I think it's more a case that the Pilots got a bit frightened seeing the
laser, since they are aware that they're a target for terrorists & other
radical groups.
Remember the Virginia Snipers? Let's say one of us were in Virginia at that
time. We're pumping gas when we see a laser dot flash across the gas pump.
I don't know 'bout the rest of you, but I'd be under the car.
