Default Sunbeam toaster..lever doesnt stay down....

HELP! how to fix this problem? Its model 3802 toast logic by sunbeam.

Is it plugged in? New toasters must be plugged in for the lever to stay
down. Check to see that you have power. Frayed cord could do it or any
other power interruption.

If that is not the problem it is probably not worth taking to have fixed.
New toasters start at $7.50 and go to $200.
