Find out who did the resurface and have them remedy the problem.

Default Inground Pool Light Help
I just bought a house a few months ago in Orlando, FL. Of course, with
the recent storms, my light in the pool has water in it. Now, the hard
part is that the pool was re-surfaced and I cant get the light out.
The gunite or whatever is all around the housing. I can get the screw
out just fine. Do I just chip away or is there a magical way of
getting this thing out.

There are two types of pool fixtures. Wet niche and dry niche.
Wet is not an big deal disconnect the power, all of the power and pry the
cover off. They tend to get sticky.

Dry is another animal. Drain the pool below the level of the light then
remove, after disconnecting all of the power.

You need to find out which you have. Most of the lights I have seen in the
last 15 years are wet niche. From your description sound like an dry niche.
Hard to tell from here.

The other poster has an good idea. Call the folks that did the job and see
what kind of rep they have.

Yeah, I wish it was that easy. I bought the house awhile ago and
getting that information is going to be impossible. I would just start
chipping away, but I dont want to demage the rest of the finish near
it. What a PITA.

Chip away. Even if you take off too much, a small area isn't hard to
repair with tile grout:
