Default One Way Hawaii Cruise

Where can I find a Hawaii cruise where I fly to Hawaii and take the ship
back? All hawaii cruises seem to be round trip with 4 consecutive days at
sea each way.

Back to where? The U.S.? I don't think it's allowed. The ship has to
hit a foreign port before returning to the U.S. and disembarking
passengers. You might also have noticed that many itineraries include a
port stop at Fanning Islan? That's just to fulfill that foreign port
stop obligation.

Have you considered one of the NCL ships Pride of Aloha or Pride of
America? They do island-to-island starting and ending in Honolulu if
I'm not mistaken. They're American flagged ships, so don't have to make
that foreign port stop. Pride of Aloha got off to a pretty rocky start,
and I really haven't heard anything lately if things have improved on
board, but it might be an option for you. Fly both ways to Hawaii, and
then spend a week island hopping.

There are some that come back to the west coast, stopping in Mexico (Ensenada)
for the Foreign Port.

I don't know the details.

Hi Norm,

There are a number of ships that do what you want. I suggest you
contact a cruise specialist to find a ship and date that would fit
your needs and wants.

Hi Ray,

Why not share some ideas about one-way Hawaii cruises rather than just
directing the OP to a TA?

If you want to avoid the days at sea, your best bet would be to take a
round trip cruise from Honolulu. I know the Pride of Aloha and Pride
of America do a 7 day round trip cruise. Go to a site like
travelocity.com and do a searh for cruises to Hawaii.

sue - just back from two weeks in Honolulu

You must be new around here. That's Ray's style. It will never change. It
will always be the same. The only advice you will get is what he posts. But
you can always go to his web site or give him a call with your card number.

Stranger than truth, people put up with his bullshit for some reason.

Yeah. Only been here about 7 years or so.

I know. It was kind of a backhand busting of chops.

I know that, too. But, I can hope???

And yours. The suggestion was to contact a TA. Nothing was said or
intimated about contacting any particular TA. Why didn't you share some of
your vast wealth of knowledge? It would have taken less time than your
vitriol that you posted.

Hi Lee,

There are a few that I know of as I've thought about doing this
itinerary myself:

RCI Radiance, 10/05/05, 10 night Honolulu to Ensenada
RCI Serenade, 10/06/05, 11 night Honolulu to Ensenada
CCL Spirit, 10/03/05, 12 night Honolulu to Ensenada

The Serenade and Spirit also do one-way cruises in late September 2005,
I believe both are from Vancouver to Honolulu.

The only thing I don't like about the idea is arrival in Ensenada:
getting up early, waiting a couple of hours to disembark, then spending
a few more hours riding a bus to San Diego, etc.

Now let me see if I understand this -- asking for Ray to
advertise? He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't!

Hmmm... Admittedly Ray makes his presence and the existence of his
services well known on this particular forum.

But in all fairness... I kind of thought that his response to this
particlar thread was rather low keyed. The soft sell approach...?
heh heh

For the record... I have never had a problem with his participation.
Once in awhile (at least for me) he comes up with some interesting
"industry" news that I wouldn't otherwise see. Oh well...

Best regards to all

A post similar to How B's is what I had in mind. Offering real info,
not just telling the OP to talk to a TA while conveniently including
all of his contact info.

Whatever. It's getting tougher and tougher out there for TAs. I guess,
any way you can get business is fair play.

Right after that statement, he includes his name, phone numbers, and web
site location. Do you also think that the "refreshing Coke" ads in the
movie theaters are there because the theater wants you to buy your
refreshments elsewhere?

Sharing ideas in itself is NOT the same thing as advertising.
A sig line containing agency contact information is advertising, in
addition to posting "press releases" that are also advertising.
