Default spouse visa / bad credit rating

Hi to All Experts,
I am Australian Resident and have been living here
for last 2 yrs and I got married during this time. Now we have decided
to go back to Australia. my problem is I have a bad credit rating over
there in Australia as I owe some money to a bank in Aus.
I am in the
process of applying spouse visa for my wife and there is this section in
form 40SP ' sponsorship undertaking' part K, to put a checkmark to yes
if I owe any money to any Australian Financial Institution.
My question
to you all experts is , Does DIMIA checks my credit rating for Australia
and whatif I say 'No' to that question?

Pls Reply.
Thanks in advance
to you all.
