Default WDW Guidebook

It's been a few years since we've been and I'm looking for a
guidebook. I used to use Birnbaum's book.

Any recommendations?

PassPorter! Fantastic guide book...go to PassPorter.com Sign up for the
newsletter, read the boards...there's tons of info on the site and in the
weekly newsletters. I have the deluxe edition, so I can customize it by
leaving some sections home on trips if I choose.

Yep, the PassPorter is probably the best one going right now.
Unofficial Guide still a great source.
Birnbaum an official organ or Disney but good information and some
coupons in the back.

Which guidebook you choose really depends on what you want out of it.

If you want good descriptions of the parks and the attractions and basic
information on how things at Disney work (like Fast Pass, etc.) and you want
lots of great pictures and NOT an overwhelming amount of information, I
still think Birnbaum's is the best.

However, if you want more unbiased assessments of the resorts, restaurants
and attractions, then choose either Passporter or Sehlinger's Unofficial
Guide. Both Passporter and Sehlinger's offer a more realistic picture of
Walt Disney World's pitfalls, especially during busy times, but the detail
and amount of information can cause "overload" if you don't watch out ;-)

Go to your local library and see what recent editions they have - it
might help you decide which 2008 guidebook you want. They may not have
the most recent one, but it might help you decide which one to buy.

I will blame my oversight on advancing age.

I hear that if you tell threaten to tell the author's wife that he's
madly in love with Boom that you might be able to extort a free copy. ;-)
