Default VIP Tours

I know they are very expensive but does anyone have any experience
with these?

Do you go to the front of the lines?

Can you book a tour that would go to more than one park?

I've read some about them but there's not a lot of detail in what I've
read.

Did you read the VIP Tour Servicees pages on the Disney website?
They answer some of the questions you had, such as the one about
whether you get front-of-the-line privileges.

http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...TourPage&bhcp=1

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...ervicesTourPage

(The Disneyland one has more info, although it probably applies
to both resorts.)

I'd be willing to bet that AllEarsNet.com has info on these, too.

Great links. Can't believe the price and one does NOT get "expedited access
to attractions."

So what does someone get for that price? It sounds like just an
escorted tour and perhaps a special viewing area.

I know that if Hollywood personalities etc. go, they don't have to
stand in line so I was hoping this was a way to purchase a similar
service.

When we were in Rome last year, there were tours that did include
immediate entry into certain attractions. That was how we got into the
Vatican Museum, for example, without waiting when there were 3-4 hour
waits for general admission.

From what I understand, the escorted tours that offer "no-queue" access
offered only to bona fide celebrities and politically connected guests.
Otherwise, there is no way to get the service even at any price.

We did once have a VIP ride, though. My wife and I were queued to ride
JIYI (right after the first grand reopening). It was very hot and the
queue started outside. We were about halfway through our frozen drinks
when we got to the entrance the the building and the CM said we could
not bring our cups inside. He had us wait off to the side until we were
finished. My wife was slightly aggravated, but the CM said not to
worry, he'd "take care if us", and he did. He took us through the back
entrance and loudly announced us to the ride operator as "VIP's". They
cleared the loading area and stopped the queue around the corner and we
were the only guests in our set of ride vehicles. We could see other
guests in the queue trying to peek around the corner to see "who" we
were. Even when we exited the ride, people were still looking at us.
It was pretty funny.

See, now, this is the kind of story that gives the Disney parks
their reputation. Had I been at the entrance of the ride, I would
have snarled at you for trying to bring beverages into the building,
and happily let you be delayed getting on the ride. Kudos to that
Disney CM for getting you caught up with--or maybe even ahead of--
where you'd originally been in line.

I'm surprised about this. Even the Keys to the Kingdom tour lets you
do a couple of rides through the back door, bypassing the lines!

I guess there's a difference between seeing a few VIP entrances via the
KttK tour vs. having a dedicated CM (or several) to give you access to
every VIP entrance all day (or over several days). I do know a family
(politically connected) that had VIP access at WDW. They said they just
called the right people and arranged it in advance. I got the
impression that there was no cost associated with this service.

Well it's more than that because the guides also make your ADRs for you AND
the good ones know very well how to tour in such a way that the lines are
always minimized AND they keep you informed of just about every little
detail of what's available to you AND they quite often arrange separate
transportation AND they make sure you get every discount possible AND etc...

AND they **can** get you into sold-out restaurants and they **can** get you
into sold-out shows AND they **CAN** and **DO** get front-of-the-line
priveleges when possible. Disney policy is in place so that you don't expect
any of this but the guides do their best to get you a lot of perks. Of
course, if you are very demanding, you will probably get the minimum.

Of course, for this group of very smart and experienced visitors, this may
not be worth as much, but to a group of 10 on their first visit, trying to
see everything in 5 days, it would be work a bunch !

When Denise and I lucked out with the stay at Cindy's this past
December, we had our own VIP-bot and front-of-line privileges as well,
but that was admittedly an unusual circumstance so I don't know if
it's something one should regularly expect when signing up for a VIP
guide.
