Very funny. Visiting Durango is just one teensy step above being an inmate
at Folsom Prison.

I've heard others say similar. I haven't been to Bisbee but plan to go.
Put Bisbee on the list.

In the many responses I didn't see any reference to the Penetente
country visited by taking a road from Taos to Espaņola (I think).
As interesting as it was when I went through some thirty or forty
years ago, it must be even more interesting now as much has been
learned about the ancestry of those who migrated there. It seems that
they're actually Jews who fled Spain to escape the Good Christian
Inquisition. In their new home, they continued to practice Judaism
secretly in their homes while appearing to be devout Christains beyond
those confines.
[The preceding paragraph might not be precisely correct, but it is
something like that.]

Re: Arizona-New Mexico
Make sure you don't miss Sedona after the Grand Canyon! Look up "Sedona
pictures" on the Internet before you leave... Take a good camera with you.
I've shoot about 850 images of Zion National Park - Utah, Grand Canyon AZ,
Sedona AZ, Gila AZ, AJO (Organ Pipe Monument) AZ, Mojave Desert - CA, etc.
Wanna go back for more!
Have a nice trip.
Michael.
