Default Blois, France - Bicycle Rental

I will be in the Loire for a 4-day visit. While spouse is enjoying ABC
(Another Bloody Chateau) bus-tour day-in-day-out, I would like to rent a
bicycle and do some day-touring on two wheels for a few of the days.
Teen-aged sons will have a choice of trapped in bus with mom, or chance
to enjoy some cafe lunches with dad (and added bonus of opportunity to
escape completely by riding in different direction than dad, once they
have been fed/watered sufficiently.)

Any suggestions for rentals in Blois?

Thanks, Rob.

Robert,

When I was there many years ago I used a free bike offered by a local
civic or tourist or ?? group. It was a clunker but it got me out to
Chambord. The place I picked it up from was near the chateau.

I would suggest a google search for bicycles in Blois if nobody can get
closer to your mark.

for this kind of thing, the best source is www.pagesjaunes.fr, esp. if you
can funciton "frenchily". The activité "location de vélo" in the localité
Blois gets you Amster Cycles, 7 rue Docteur Desfray, 02 54 560 773.

Sorry, no first hand experiences with bicycle rentals
(as I have my own bicycles) but a short search in
french showed 3 addresses (one with e-mail address)
at
http://www.lvo.com/TOURISME/SITES/VELO/VELOBF.HTML
(Blois is in departement 41)
and
http://www.amstercycles.com/Anglais/page-accueilang.htm

Have a great trip!
