Any Recommendations For Skiing Holiday in Europe?

Recommended Posts

I am looking to go on a skiing holiday with my 9 year old daughter. Ideally this December, but I hear the slopes may not be in the best of condition and March is a better time to go.

I've never been before and would need the full package, equipment hire, accomodation, ski passes and lessons.

I find it frustrating trying to book, nowhere I look seem to offer everything, the accomodations are just close to a ski slope which you then have to pay extra for to use.

Are there any options where I can just pay a one time fee, which includes my flights, accomodation and everything I need for skiing?

As a total newbie, along with your daughter, I suggest any of the smaller Austrian resorts should be good for you.

The only trade=off is that the expensive, hish altitude resorts are more sno sure in early and late seasons, although most Austrian resort pistes are on meadows, and grass does not need much snow cover, even a few inches can be OK. Rocky resorts need a metre or more.

I can't recommend any packages which provide everything.

If you have the nerve to wait, you can often get some good deals about 2 to 3 weeks before departure, particularly on Crystal.

I hope this helps a little at least.

Actually, I just thought that Club Med Ski Holidays are inclusive, although expensive, IMO. They do not include Austria.

There are also UCPA (France), and a number of French holiday clubs, but you would need to book your own travel.

You could also ask https://www.skiclub.co.uk/ for advice. They also run ski holidays.
