TheTravelForum-Sam
While traveling to a foreign land it is important to learn a few words about their language, not only does it show respect but also opens doors to delightful interactions with locals. Don't let language barriers hold you back! Learning a few Thai words can be a game-changer for your trip. Here are some basics I picked up during my Thailand trip: 1. Greetings Matter: Hello: Sa-wa-dee-krup (for men) / Sa-wa-dee-ka (for women) How are you?: Sa-bye-dee-mhai-krup (M) / Sa-bye-dee-mhai-ka (F) Reply to How are you?: Sa-bye-dee-krup (M) / Sa-bye-dee-ka (F) 2. Farewells and Affirmations: See you Later: Jer-gun Yes: Chai No: Mai 3. Courtesies and Gratitude: Thank you: Khorb-koon-krup (M) / Khorb-koon-ka (F) Reply to Thank you (My pleasure): Yin-dee-khrup (M) / Yin-dee-ka (F) Sorry: Khore-tode-krup (M) / Khore-tode-ka (F) These are a few important words that helped me survive in Thailand.
